Welcome to Source Code

Welcome to Source Code, UW Credit Union's blog covering everything related to our online offerings like Web Branch and our Web site.

My name is Eric Bangerter and I'm the author of this blog. I'm the Vice President of E-Commerce and Internet Services at UW Credit Union. I've worked for UW Credit Union since 2001. My career in Web development started in 1995 just as the commercial Internet was taking shape. I went on to develop interactive and educational Web sites at the University of Wisconsin-Extension prior to joining UW Credit Union.

At UW Credit Union, I lead our development team in the design and support of our online offerings. Our approach is based on making sure the UW Credit Union member is represented in all aspects of what we create. Essentially, we digest the feedback we get from members, identify their needs, monitor the evolution of the technology and look for opportunities to apply it to the financial services industry. All this helps guide the features and functions we add. It is not an exaggeration to say we are passionate about creating a world class online experience for our members. Because we do the development with our own in-house team, we have the ability to customize a lot of what we offer to work best for members. This flexibility helps us be the best we can be for our members, and distinguishes us in the marketplace.

In this blog, I'll be covering upcoming enhancements (both big and small), address member feedback and concerns and invite you to share comments that will help shape the direction of our online services.

I hope this blog will allow us to become more closely connected to our online members to ensure we're addressing the opportunities that matter most.

  2. Hmm. This blog seems to have gone AWOL since August 2011. No posts in more than six months. That's really too bad. Are you really not working on anything?

    1. Sorry about the lack of posts. We have been doing quite a bit of internal/infrastructure work. We'll have some new things to share later this spring.
